Salary: £24,796 per annum FTE (Actual £20,790) + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm, term time only (38 weeks)

Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a highly organised Administrator (Administration Assistant) to support a busy school office. This role includes data entry, record keeping, communication and general office administration within a fast-paced education environment.

Duties

  • General Office Administration: Filing, photocopying, scanning, data entry and maintaining accurate records
  • Database Management: Maintain and update student records using the school’s MIS system
  • Document Preparation: Assist with letters, reports and school communications
  • Content Creation: Produce newsletters, notices and internal updates
  • Attendance Monitoring: Record and track student attendance and follow up absences
  • Behaviour Support: Assist with administration of rewards and sanctions processes
  • Enquiries Handling: Respond to staff and student queries promptly and professionally
  • First Aid Support: Provide cover for the First Aid room when required
  • Reception Cover: Support front desk operations during staff absence
  • Safeguarding Compliance: Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
  • Professional and approachable manner when dealing with staff and students

Desirable

  • Previous experience in an administrative or school environment
  • Knowledge of school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding within an education setting
