This role involves working closely with hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure robust EMC performance and successful regulatory approval of security‑critical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EMC and EMI engineering activities across access control hardware platforms.
  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, and system architectures from an EMC perspective.
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve EMC/EMI issues at PCB, subsystem, and system level.
  • Define and apply EMC design guidelines covering grounding, shielding, filtering, and cabling.
  • Support pre‑compliance and compliance testing against applicable standards (CE, EN, IEC, CISPR, FCC where applicable).
  • Perform hands‑on testing, debugging, and root‑cause analysis using EMC lab equipment.
  • Work closely with external EMC test houses and certification bodies.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to implement mitigation strategies and design improvements.

  • Practical experience with EMC debugging tools (spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, LISNs, near‑field probes, etc.).
  • Experience working on access control systems, security products, or safety‑critical electronic systems.
  • Ability to review and influence PCB layout and system‑level design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex EMC topics clearly.
