Housing Officer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Housing Officer (Neighbourhood Officer) for a 6-month contract with a local authority in South East United Kingdom. The role offers a negotiable pay rate and immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a designated patch of properties, acting as the main point of contact for tenants
Deliver a proactive tenancy management service, including tenancy sustainment and enforcement
Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases from initial report through to resolution
Carry out estate inspections and identify breaches of tenancy or environmental issues
Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to support vulnerable residents
Prepare cases for legal action where required, including attending court if necessary

About You

Proven experience in a housing management / neighbourhood officer role
Strong knowledge of tenancy law and ASB case management
Experience managing a varied caseload independently
Confident working with external partners and dealing with complex cases
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
