Maintenance Engineer

Location: Bedale, Yorkshire & the Humber
Salary: £20 per hour (circa £50,000+ per annum)
Hours: Monday - Friday (40-52 hours per week), occasional Saturday

We're working with an exciting, fast-growing food manufacturer to search for Maintenance Engineers to join their passionate and dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of production machinery.
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to optimise machine performance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Contributing to ongoing factory development projects.

About You

We're keen to speak with Maintenance Engineers who have experience within manufacturing environments, ideally FMCG or food production. Our ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable individual with strong fault-finding skills and a solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineering role, preferably within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and breakdown response.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to shifts and business needs.
  • Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential.
  • Permanent Right to Work in the UK required – no visa sponsorship available.
  • Driving Licence required.
