Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Manager Property Management - UK
Seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee property management finance and accounting operations for a UK client. Hybrid working from home/office on UK calendar.
About the Job
The Role
- Accounting & Reporting - Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and HMRC requirements. Manage reporting of service charges, ground rents, and property-related income/expenses.
- Financial Planning & Analysis - Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models for property portfolios. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and investment opportunities.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management - Monitor cash flow across multiple property accounts. Support implementation of strategies to optimize liquidity and working capital.
- Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure adherence to UK property management regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies. Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Operational Support - Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate billing and tenant account management. Oversee rent collection processes and resolve financial discrepancies. Support capital expenditure planning and property maintenance budgets.
- Team Leadership - Supervise and mentor finance staff. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
The Person
- CA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–7 years of finance experience, ideally within property management or real estate.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, property regulations, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in property management software (e.g., MRI, Yardi, Qube) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience.
- Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in the use of packages like Xero, MYOB, Sage, and QB.
