Job Description

Join our Team as a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist based within the Adult Community Rehabilitation Services. An opportunity has arisen for a qualified speech & language therapist who is wanting to develop community experience or a speech & language therapy student qualifying in Summer 2026 to join the Adult Community SLT Service on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working in North and south Kirklees, as the service requires, the role will involve providing comprehensive care for adults in a variety of community settings. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] SLT team provide specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge recommendations for adults with a range of acquired communication difficulties and neurogenic voice problems. We offer a hybrid approach to care via virtual (telephone & Video) and direct patient care. We offer excellent clinical, management and peer supervision, regular team meetings and continuing professional development. For newly qualified SLT we will support to complete the RCSLT competencies. We are committed to learning and development for identified clinical and professional skills. We are looking for a motivated and committed therapist to work with us in our established, innovative and friendly team. You will also work with the wider multidisciplinary team within Community Rehabilitation Services providing you with opportunity to develop and share skills. We offer an excellent system of induction, appraisal, clinical supervision and training opportunities. You will be part of a dynamic and highly supportive team of colleagues delivering high quality SLT services to the population of South Kirklees. This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period, and you must be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
