About the role...
We are looking for a Merchandiser to join our General Merchandise Merchandising team. The role is based in our Customer Support Centre (Head Office) in Walsall and will work on a hybrid basis. Working in partnership with the Commercial team, the Merchandiser will deliver the range construction, planned sales, profit and stock targets within defined categories.

Your Impact and Responsibilities…
- Analyse historical information through SWOT assessments and lessons learnt presentations to develop sales and profit plans.
- Work with the Senior Merchandiser, buying and technical teams to shape departmental strategy.
- Deliver the supplier strategy within the buying and merchandising teams.
- Support wider business objectives with a focus on range size, product phasing and category mixes.
- Work with Buying team to build balanced and profitable ranges.
- Plan the range to ensure the offer and buy fits the sales and profit plan.
- Review and react to trading conditions, adjust plans to maximise sales opportunities.
- Input into the development of the Marketing Activity Planning Calendar.
- Lead the weekly trading process with the buyer.
- Work through future promotional strategies.
Skills and Knowledge…
- Experience within a similar Head Office Merchandiser role in retail with a large store network. Previous experience in General Merchandise and/or Clothing is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of the buying cycle and critical path process.
- Knowledge of international supply chain processes.
- Excellent analytic and numerical skills with the ability to use results to deliver sales and profit opportunities and manage budgets effectively.
