DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a global leader in financial services, is looking for a DevOps Engineer, to join their team, responsible for key applications critical to the firm. In this role, you will work on, design and build best-in-class, large-scale applications, using modern practices and tech stacks. You will also work closely with operations teams to provide solutions for challenging business requirements. The team is forward-thinking regarding continuous improvement, development processes and automation, works with modern best practices, and places a high value on collaboration.

Key Skills and Experience

• A strong background in DevOps, CI/CD and Cloud engineering
• A background in financial services, banking and large enterprise environments
• A background in Cloud development with major platforms, ideally GCP
• A proven record with containerisation and Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform
• Working with microservices and API-based solutions
• A background with large-scale enterprise software design and Agile software development, ideally with Java, C, C++, Go and JavaScript
• Managing and deploying CI/CD tools and working with Jenkins, Ansible, Jira and Git, among others
• Scripting with PowerShell and Python
• A background and knowledge with Windows and Linux environments
• Knowledge of best practices, emerging technologies and trends
• Working with global, diverse, cross-functional teams, with the ability to develop and nurture working relationships
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
