The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive engineer to be the onsite hero and the face of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] to our clients. You will deliver first-class customer support, technical solutions, and commissioning of new or upgraded sites.
Key Areas of Focus
- Troubleshoot network and client device issues onsite
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Technical Support, and Installation teams
- Perform network performance analysis and compile reports
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and respond to live break-fix faults
- Carry out wireless surveys, Wi-Fi optimisation, and compliance
- Provide technical services for infrastructure installation (cabling, fibre, cabinets, switches)
- Commission remote sites onto the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] core network
- Audit installation quality and act as handover acceptance
- Create and execute test procedures
- Investigate and repair faults
- Keep accurate records and maintain workflow reports
- Ensure safe working conditions and Health & Safety compliance
- Train and support Field Engineering staff
- Onboard devices, configure VLANs, bridges, and DHCP
- Upgrade switch firmware and verify router settings
About You

Requirements
- Full UK driving license
- Previous experience in field engineer / field network engineer role
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight across the UK
- Be part of On Call Rota
- Strong written, verbal, and ICT skills
- Experience in client-facing roles with proven customer service
- Flexible team player, able to work independently
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in using netbox to locate site/device information
- Experienced with Ruckus, Cambium and Mikrotik
- Configure switches via CLI (VLANs, PVIDs, MAC/LLDP tables)
- Use cnmaestro to assign switches to groups and edit port configs
- Create WLAN/AP groups, registration rules, and move APs
- Proficiency with Fluke, OTDR, Ekahau, Wi-Fi analysis
- Experience with fibre splicing, cabling, radio link installation
Advanced Technical Skills
- Understanding of 3G/4G/5G, GPON, ADSL/VDSL/PPPoE
- Sound understanding of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] services (Home Networking, hotspot)
- Packet capture and analysis (Wireshark, Mikrotik)
- Accessing and troubleshooting via Virtual Machines (Ubuntu, VM)
- Creating Supermicro servers, loading ESXi, installing Mikrotik cloud-hosted router images
- CCNA-level networking knowledge
