Software Developer – AxSTREAM Function Development

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Inc. (www.softinway.com) is a global, fast-growing engineering simulation software company voted as a part of the top 100 Startups in Massachusetts in 2021. We support the leading aerospace, defense, and cleantech companies with advanced simulation software and engineering services to help develop their products. We're seeking a skilled Software Developer/Engineer to join our team in developing advanced functions within the AxSTREAM platform —a leading tool for turbomachinery design and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize functional modules within AxSTREAM for simulation and analysis.
  • Contribute to the creation of solvers for 3D strength and dynamic analysis (e.g., turbine blades, rotors, disks).
  • Participate in the development of parametric geometrical models for turbomachinery components, enabling automated design workflows and integration with simulation modules.
  • Implement algorithms for geometry generation, modification, and validation, ensuring compatibility with meshing and solver requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new capabilities into the platform and support end-to-end design processes.

Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. Preferred: PhD or postgraduate research in numerical methods, mechanics, or simulation.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in engineering software development, numerical analysis, or scientific computing. Prior work with simulation platforms or CAD/CAE tools is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of numerical methods: FEM, FDM, variational techniques.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling of mechanical and dynamic systems.
  • Familiarity with PDEs and mathematical physics relevant to structural and fluid analysis.
  • Proficient in C++ (primary language); Python is a plus.

Preferred: experience with OpenCascade, or similar engineering libraries.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge simulation tools used in aerospace, energy, and turbomachinery industries.
  • Collaborative environment with deep technical expertise and strategic vision.
  • Flexible structure for innovation, research, and impact.
