Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer (2 Different Roles)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineers for two role types: Elite (includes Warrant Officer and debt resolution duties) and Non-Elite (purely metering, no warrant work). Based in Sunderland with field travel. Full-time, permanent position with shift rotation. Salary from £38,110 to £43,260 depending on role and location, with realistic earning potential up to £55K. Requires smart metering experience and relevant qualifications (CMA1/CCN1, MET1, Power Certificate). Retention bonus scheme up to £60,000.
Role Overview
You’ll work predominantly in the commercial sector, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of gas and electricity metering services. Elite Engineers undertake friendly debt resolution visits and Warrants as the Warrant Officer. Non-Elite Engineers focus purely on technical metering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe installation, exchange, commissioning, removal, and maintenance of metering systems and associated equipment.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer interactions.
- Elite: Undertake Warrant Officer and friendly debt resolution visits (supported by back-office team).
- Non-Elite: Focus exclusively on core dual fuel metering duties.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Take accountability for stock, tools, and company vehicle.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) experience
- CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent)
- Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)
- UK Driving Licence
- Pass colour blindness test and DBS check
Desirable: MET4, Current Transformer (CT), Three Phase, REGT1 – Medium Pressure
Salary & Benefits
Elite Dual Fuel: £43,260/year (realistic £50K-£55K). Non-Elite: £38,110/year. London supplements available. Retention bonus up to £60,000 after three years.
