Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer (Elite or Non-Elite) based in Kirkwall, UK. The role involves safe installation, exchange, commissioning, and maintenance of gas and electricity metering systems in the commercial sector. Elite engineers also perform warrant officer and debt resolution duties.
Reports to: Regional Field Manager
Location: Field UK Based - Kirkwall
Working hours: 40 hours Monday – Friday, rotating shifts (6am-3pm, 8am-5pm, 11am-7pm)
Salary: £43,260/year (Realistic earning potential £50K–£55K)
Requirements
- Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) experience
- Industry Qualifications: CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent)
- Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)
- UK Driving Licence
- Pass a colour blindness test
- Pass a DBS check
- Desirable: MET4, CT Metering, Three Phase, REGT1
Role Responsibilities
- Safe installation, exchange, commissioning, removal, and maintenance of metering systems
- Friendly, professional customer interactions
- Elite Engineers: Undertake friendly debt resolution visits and act as Warrant Officer (supported)
- Non-Elite Engineers: Focus exclusively on core dual fuel metering duties
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Accountability for stock, tools, and company vehicle
- Open to ongoing development and training
