Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer. Location: Exeter, UK. Permanent full-time onsite. Salary: £43,260 - £55,000 (realistic earning potential) plus retention bonus up to £60,000 after three years.
The Role
You will work predominantly in the commercial sector, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of gas and electricity metering services. Depending on your role choice:
- Elite Engineers: Undertake friendly debt resolution visits, alternate between attending Warrants as on-site engineer and acting as Warrant Officer (supported, never solo).
- Non-Elite (Dual Fuel Only): Focus purely on technical metering work – no Warrant or debt visits.
All engineers receive full technical support, ongoing mentoring, and opportunities to upskill in Three-Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly/CT Metering, Gas U16–U40. Future progression to Technical Lead, Quality Assessor, or Regional Field Manager.
What We Need from Yü
- Demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude and willingness to take on varied field metering tasks.
- Responsible for safe installation, exchange, commissioning, removal, and maintenance of metering systems.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer interactions reflecting our values.
- Elite Engineers undertake Warrant Officer and friendly debt resolution visits; Non-Elite focus on core dual fuel metering duties.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations, metering standards, and company procedures.
- Take accountability for stock, tools, and company vehicle care.
- Work collaboratively to deliver team and business goals.
- Be open to ongoing development through technical training and mentoring.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
- Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) experience
- Industry Qualifications: CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent)
- Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)
- UK Driving Licence
- Pass colour blindness test and DBS check
Desirable: MET4, Current Transformer, Three Phase, REGT1 (Medium Pressure).
