Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer (2 Different Roles)
Yü Group is hiring Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineers in Harrogate. The role involves safe installation, exchange, and maintenance of gas and electricity metering systems for commercial customers. Two pathways are available: Elite Engineer (includes Warrant Officer duties and debt visits) and Non-Elite Dual Fuel Engineer (pure metering without warrant work). The position offers a permanent full-time schedule with rotating shifts, a base salary of £43,260 (Elite) with realistic earning potential up to £55,000, plus a retention bonus scheme of up to £60,000 after three years. Candidates must have dual fuel smart metering experience, relevant industry qualifications (CMA1/CCN1+MET1), a UK driving licence, and pass colour blindness and DBS checks.

The Role & What We Need from Yü
You’ll work predominantly in the commercial sector, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of gas and electricity metering services. Depending on your role choice:
- Elite Engineers: Undertake friendly debt resolution visits, alternate between attending Warrants as onsite engineer and acting as Warrant Officer (always supported).
- Non-Elite (Dual Fuel Only): Focus purely on technical metering work — no Warrant or debt visits.
All engineers receive full technical support, ongoing mentoring, and opportunities to upskill in Three-Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly/CT Metering, Gas U16–U40. Future progression to Technical Lead, Quality Assessor, or Regional Field Manager.
Key expectations:
- Demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude and willingness to take on varied field metering tasks.
- Install, exchange, commission, remove, and maintain metering systems, associated equipment, and communication systems.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer interactions.
- Elite Engineers: also undertake Warrant Officer and debt resolution visits.
- Non-Elite Engineers: focus exclusively on core dual fuel metering duties.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, metering standards, and company procedures.
- Accountability for stock, tools, and company vehicle care.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and management.
- Be open to ongoing development through training and mentoring.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) experience
- Industry Qualifications: CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent)
- Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)
Desirable: MET4, Current Transformer (CT), Three Phase, REGT1 – Medium Pressure.
Additional Requirements: UK Driving Licence, pass colour blindness test, pass DBS check.
