Senior Electrical Contracts Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to lead a £48 million healthcare project. Location: Exeter (initially) then Plymouth. Full-time, on-site. Apply now.

Role Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee all electrical contract elements.
  • Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Resource Management: Allocate labour, materials, and equipment effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce robust health and safety practices.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and control expenditure.
  • Risk Management: Implement mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Client Relations: Act as main client contact.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant experience in electrical engineering and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, BS 7671 wiring regulations.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail in compliance, safety, and quality.

Core Electrical Qualifications

  • 236 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing.
  • JIB Gold Card (Approved Electrician status).

Certifications (Preferred)

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • PMP or PRINCE2.
  • NEC3/NEC4 Contract Training.

Work Environment

Based at the Exeter Office until December, then transitioning to Derriford Hospital FHP1 site in Plymouth until December 2028. Fast-paced, collaborative project environment.
