Administrator – Personnel Office
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Administrator for the Personnel Office at HMS Raleigh, Torpoint. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £24,852.65 per annum.
Position Overview
Based in the Personnel Office HMS Raleigh, this role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted administration requirements of the Armed Forces (predominantly the Royal Navy). There is potential to rotate through various professional responsibilities. Training can be provided.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a dedicated day-to-day focal point for personnel administration, including direct customer interface and liaison with coordinators and line managers.
- Arrange travel using an online booking system and liaise with booking companies.
- Collate and maintain budgetary-related information.
- Maintain and protect personnel-related data.
- Data input, updating the joint-Service administration system.
- Assessing entitlement to pay, allowances, expenses, promotion, awards.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and GDPR.
- Undertake additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager.
What We Are Looking For
- Administration experience with good organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity.
- Proven track record of delivering quality administration and service with customer-facing experience.
- Persuasive and credible verbal and written communicator.
- IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Conversant/knowledge of MOD personnel administration applications and systems (desirable).
- Proactive approach and ability to embrace change.
- Ability to manage short-notice changes and deadlines.
- Good standard of education.
Additional Information
MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years (Counter Terrorist Check), 5 years (Security Clearance), or 10 years (Developed Vetting). All Developed Vetted posts require UK nationality. The contract operates 37.5 hours per week between 0730 and 1700 Mon-Fri. Required to wear approved company workwear.
