Custody Detention Officer - PART TIME
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a part-time Custody Detention Officer in Telford, Shropshire. Salary £13,759.20 per year. Part-time shift pattern: 2 day shifts, 8 days off, 2 night shifts, 4 days off. Requires UK RTW and full driving licence. Full training provided.
About the Role
Are you interested in working within the criminal justice system? In a core role supporting the police? Do you have the empathy to work with vulnerable people? We are looking for people who want to make a difference working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees – from supporting them during their time in custody, completing forensic samples, working with other agencies to support and help with detainees' rehabilitation. Previous experience in police/security/armed forces is beneficial but not required. You will be trained fully on an Initial Training Course.
Requirements
- Reasonable level of spoken and written English and basic numeracy
- Competent in IT and using a computer
- Full valid driving licence
- Must have RTW in UK, lived in UK with British Passport or ILR for 3+ years (no gaps >3 months)
- All candidates subject to police vetting – clean driving/criminal record essential
- Empathy and ability to work in a small team alongside Police Officers
