Security Officer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Security Officer to work at the Coop Retail Store in Edinburgh. This is a full-time, on-site position offering £13.19 per hour. The role requires an SIA Licence and SC Clearance.
Job Overview
- Protect customer property, people, and/or assets in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
- Deliver results meeting Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self-development.
Main Duties
Operations
- Ensure compliance with policies, legal, and regulatory requirements (UK Law, SIA).
- Complete all tasks defined in Assignment Instructions.
- Proactively review Assignment Instructions and suggest improvements.
- Obtain and wear SIA front-line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision). Customer also requires CCTV PSS SIA Licence.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements.
- Work in a systematic, orderly manner.
Training
- Complete all required competency training.
- Undertake continuous self-development as directed.
- Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
- Report any Health & Safety hazards immediately.
- Stay alert to threats and take appropriate action.
- Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations.
- Complete accurate notebook entries after incidents.
- Ensure check calls at allocated times.
- Call emergency services and Communication Centre for all incidents.
