About the Role
Are you a Nurse or Paramedic looking for a new direction? Join [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Care & Custody and work alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees. You will deliver gold standard care, develop clinical, forensic and wider skills. Must be flexible to work across an assigned region.
Salary
- £20.50 per hour for 1-2 shifts
- £22.50 per hour for 3-5 shifts
- £24.50 per hour for 6+ shifts
Essential Experience
- RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration) - 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum
- Paramedic 2 years post qualification
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification in patient-facing role (GP, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service)
Licence/Certification
- HCPC/NMC (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
- Must be a UK resident for 3+ years with no gaps out of country more than 3 months
- All candidates subject to Police Vetting
What the Role Involves
The custody suites are energetic with no two shifts the same. Provide detainees with physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, gather forensic samples, make records on computerised systems, assess fitness for detention/release, administer medications, and work with Liaison and Diversion teams. No previous forensic experience required - full training provided.
