Security Manager - Distribution Centre
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead security operations at the Marks & Spencer Distribution Centre in Daventry. The role involves leading Site Protection Officers, managing access control, CCTV, and incident response, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The position requires a valid SIA licence, UK driving licence, and prior supervisory experience. Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support the SPO team at the M&S Daventry Distribution Centre
- Act as the first point of contact for security incidents, queries, and escalations
- Ensure security operations are delivered in line with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and M&S standards
- Allocate tasks and duties to ensure effective coverage
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on site and lead by example
- Monitor access control systems, CCTV operations, and vehicle movements
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols
- Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access
- Ensure accurate, timely, and professional incident reporting and handovers
- Support the training, coaching, and development of Site Protection Officers
- Liaise closely with site management and other stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and company security procedures
- Provide flexible support, including short‑notice cover when required
Person Specification
- ✅ Previous experience in a security supervisory or Team Leader role
- ✅ Strong leadership and communication skills
- ✅ Literate and numerate with excellent attention to detail
- ✅ Professional appearance with high personal standards
- ✅ Calm, confident, and effective under pressure
- ✅ Reliable, adaptable, and proactive
- ✅ Able to work independently and manage a team
- ✅ Must hold a valid front‑line SIA Licence
- ✅ Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
