FULL DESCRIPTION

Cleaner - Care & Custody

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Cleaning Operative for HMP Millsike in York. Part-time, 16 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning tasks to a high standard, ensuring all areas remain clean, hygienic, and presentable.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms, ensuring materials are stored appropriately.
  • Follow Health & Safety and COSHH regulations, including disinfecting and deep cleaning.
  • Report incidents, defects, or dangers to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety in all work undertaken.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional representation.
  • Proactive, self-motivated attitude with initiative.
  • Flexibility within contracted hours and a ‘can do’ approach.
  • High moral standards and integrity suitable for a secure environment.
  • Background in cleaning advantageous but full training provided.
