Multi-Trade Operative

Job Description
We are looking for a skilled multi-trader to join our team. The ideal candidate would have general knowledge of basic building works, wet trades, and basic carpentry background. Certificates such as CSCS, PASMA, IPAF etc would be an advantage but not essential as we would provide access to courses as required. Demonstrate basic construction site knowledge sufficient to work safely and efficiently on-site. The ability to communicate with colleagues and clients. Must be experienced and hardworking, with the ability to work to a high standard and on own initiative. Will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision and have a flexible approach and a desire to take on new responsibilities. The role will vary day to day but will typically cover a broad spectrum of Multi-Trader Skills and General builder in various building trades.
- Perform repair and maintenance tasks on doors, furniture, fixtures and appliances in an effective and timely manner
- Carpentry
- Ground Work
- Fixing
- Tiling
- Changing locks
- Mastic work
- Plastering
- Fabric repairs
- Pointing
- Rendering
- Spar
- Brickwork
- Flooring
- Investigate possible problems and propose solutions
- Fencing repairs / Facia and soffit repairs
- Basic plumbing
- Determine tools and equipment needed for individual repair or maintenance jobs
Operations
- Ensure all works are carried out within the approved budget
- Attend site inductions. Read and understand the contents of the site file signing applicable receipt pages confirming you will carry out the tasks as per method statement / risk assessment
- To attend training courses as per [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s QHSE policy and procedures
- Complete all works in a safe working manner
- All PPE to be worn at all times and limit any risk to yourself and others
- Uniform, safety boots and names badge to be worn at all times
- Ensure Time Sheets are completed correctly and are returned in a timely manner
- Implement and follow local procedures as and when they are issued
- Liaising with site management and key personnel on building related issues
Qualifications
- Must hold a recognised qualification or have a minimum of 2 years checkable experience
- Preferable has served a recognised apprenticeship
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and be a team player
- Conversant with relevant legislation and compliance issues
- Good knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety
- Must be self-motivated and be a good motivator
- Should have a “Can Do” approach and portray a positive attitude
- Must have good customer service skills
- Is capable of carrying out all duties associated with carrying out the role of painter/decorator
