Handyman/Porter

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Handyman/Porter for Hull Community Diagnostic Centre. This part-time weekend role involves porterage, basic handyman tasks, PPM, waste management, patient sample handling, and outdoor maintenance. Rate of pay £14.00 per hour.

Job Overview

Provide day‑to‑day porterage and basic handyman support to ensure the CDC operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Act as a key support role for clinical teams, facilities management, and the client.

Main Duties

  • Complete PPM tasks (planned and reactive) as instructed
  • Move supplies and equipment across the site to required locations
  • Manage waste streams, including: General waste, Clinical waste, Biological waste (if applicable)
  • Handle patient samples (e.g. blood samples), where required
  • Manage linen and laundry processes
  • Manage deliveries, parcels, and post
  • Carry out basic handyman tasks to support site presentation and functionality
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including: General upkeep, Gritting in cold weather (when required), Support reactive cleaning requests when needed
