Relief Security Officer

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Relief Security Officer based in Newport. This is a full-time, on-site role. Closing date: 18 May 2026.

Job Overview

To protect [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes. Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract. To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.

Main Duties

  • Operations: Ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements; complete tasks as defined in Assignment Instructions; review and suggest improvements; obtain front-line SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA Licence; follow instructions and work systematically.
  • Training: Complete required competency training; undertake continuous professional development; use technology effectively; renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
  • Security and Health & Safety: Report hazards; stay alert to threats; maintain professional conduct; complete incident reports; carry out check calls; call emergency services and Communication Centre as needed.
