Job Description

Due to continued growth, ACL (Alarm Communication Limited) is seeking to appoint an additional Project Manager to join our established and expanding team. We are looking for a skilled Technical Project Manager with a strong background in delivering complex projects within the Fire and Security industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of internal staff, alongside approved subcontractors, to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects ranging in value from £50,000 to £1 million. This role requires a highly organised individual with exceptional attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and a proven ability to oversee large-scale, technically demanding systems from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project delivery across a portfolio of key client accounts, ensuring a consistently high standard of service and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed project quotations, including pricing for on-site works and project variations, supporting the sales and estimation process.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely and high-quality completion of defect rectification and corrective works.
  • Lead the delivery of major projects, serving as the principal client interface for large-scale programmes, and ensuring all site standards, contractual obligations, and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Manage project financials, including forecasting, monthly work-in-progress reviews, and the accurate and timely submission of invoices and progress applications.
  • Take responsibility for all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) requirements, including the preparation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), as well as the completion of audits and management reporting for the business unit.
  • Support the growth and development of the team in line with business objectives, fostering a high-performance culture, encouraging continuous improvement, and promoting internal career progression.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable experience within the Fire and Security industry, supported by either a strong technical/engineering background or equivalent industry expertise.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, networked commercial projects, including knowledge of IP-based systems and integrated security solutions.
  • Experience coordinating and managing both in-house teams and approved subcontractors across multiple disciplines.
  • Highly effective communicator with strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Working Arrangements

The role would be split evenly between the office and out on site in London and the surrounding counties, with some home working.
