Shift Engineering Supervisor
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Shift Engineering Supervisor (Electrical Bias) in Southampton to lead a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, overseeing HV/LV systems maintenance and ensuring statutory compliance. The role requires AM2 and 2391 qualifications, and offers opportunities for specialist training.
- Location: Swanwick, Southampton
- Employment: Full-time
- Shift Pattern: Early & Late (Week 1: 06:00-15:00, Week 2: 14:00-23:00)
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise Mechanical and Electrical Engineers delivering multi‑skilled maintenance across HV and LV disciplines.
- Oversee High Voltage and Low Voltage switching operations following [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Safe Systems of Work.
- Attend and successfully pass a recognised High Voltage Appointed Persons Course (mandatory for the role).
- Complete in‑house training to provide cover for the Facilities Management Service Co‑ordinator when required.
- Manage your team, perform maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations to maintain plant reliability and performance.
- Ensure all KPIs are achieved and engage with contractors or external suppliers as needed.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and produce timely reports.
- Work to high company standards, reporting deficiencies that may affect safety, service delivery, or the environment.
- Ensure all work (your own and your team's) is completed safely, diligently, and professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate and up‑to‑date training certificate such as AM2.
- 2391 Test and Inspect qualification.
- Good knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems.
