Shift Engineering Supervisor

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Shift Engineering Supervisor (Electrical Bias) in Southampton to lead a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, overseeing HV/LV systems maintenance and ensuring statutory compliance. The role requires AM2 and 2391 qualifications, and offers opportunities for specialist training.

  • Location: Swanwick, Southampton
  • Employment: Full-time
  • Shift Pattern: Early & Late (Week 1: 06:00-15:00, Week 2: 14:00-23:00)

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise Mechanical and Electrical Engineers delivering multi‑skilled maintenance across HV and LV disciplines.
  • Oversee High Voltage and Low Voltage switching operations following [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Safe Systems of Work.
  • Attend and successfully pass a recognised High Voltage Appointed Persons Course (mandatory for the role).
  • Complete in‑house training to provide cover for the Facilities Management Service Co‑ordinator when required.
  • Manage your team, perform maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations to maintain plant reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all KPIs are achieved and engage with contractors or external suppliers as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and produce timely reports.
  • Work to high company standards, reporting deficiencies that may affect safety, service delivery, or the environment.
  • Ensure all work (your own and your team's) is completed safely, diligently, and professionally.

Required Qualifications

  • Appropriate and up‑to‑date training certificate such as AM2.
  • 2391 Test and Inspect qualification.
  • Good knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems.
