Lead Engineer - North

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Lead Engineer to manage design and engineering teams across complex structural and telecoms infrastructure projects. Based in Nottingham, this full-time role offers career development and comprehensive benefits.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage lead designers and engineering teams delivering Civils, Steel Frame, Piling & Concrete, Telecoms rooftop designs, Rip & Replace sites, Special Foundations, and end-of-life structural solutions.
  • Coordinate and support site attendance to survey structures and gather information required for structural calculations.
  • Ensure all project work is delivered within budget, meets deadlines, and complies fully with CDM 2015 Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Oversee production of sketches, hand-drawn concepts, and AutoCAD drawings to ensure outputs are technically accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Lead HR responsibilities including team inductions, appraisals, performance reviews, and probation management.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and quality assurance across all engineering deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • BEng in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience managing engineering teams and leading multi-discipline technical delivery.
  • H&S training enabling safe attendance at site environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly.
  • Design flair and the ability to develop creative, practical engineering solutions for clients.
