Job Responsibilities

• Managing entry and exit procedures for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
• Providing exceptional customer service to visitors, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.
• Able to put visitors at ease and answer questions about any aspect of prison life.
• Support visitors and understand that having a loved one in prison can be distressing.
• Conducting regular patrols to maintain external security.
• Performing searches and confiscating forbidden items in line with policies.
• Escorting visitors and prisoners to ensure safety and security.
• Handling mail and maintaining logs to report contraband items.
• Supervising prisoner activities, including clothing and property exchanges.
• Operating the establishment's radio system and monitoring CCTV.
• Monitoring the prisoners' PIN Phone system and maintaining logs.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures.
• Performing administrative tasks to ensure accurate data maintenance.

Person Specification

Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent communication skills.
