Store Detective
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Store Detective for M&S stores in Manchester and Greater Manchester. Full-time, 45 hours per week, £15.91/hour. Requires SIA front line licence and 5 years of trackable UK work history.
Job Overview
Our client is the UK's premier high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will operate across their network of stores and utilise your observation skills to help prevent theft of stock. The work of the Detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension and prosecution of criminals who target our client.
Main Duties
- Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.
- Follow ASCONE process.
- Work with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
- Liaison with police forces and other crime prevention partners.
- Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
What we are looking for
- Highly adaptable.
- Remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
- Experience in a customer facing role with strong customer service background.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proactive and forward-thinking approach.
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
- SIA licenced – store detective experience highly desirable.
- Exceptional observational skills; ability to handle sensitive situations and make quick decisions.
- Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
