Multi Skilled Technician Elec Bias
Company: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] | Location: RVI Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4LP | Employment Type: Full-time | Shift: 4 on / 4 off (12-hour shifts)
Role Responsibilities
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, testing, fault diagnosis, repair, and calibration of electrical and associated building services plant and equipment.
- Carry out emergency lighting testing to BS EN 5266, fixed wire testing to BS 7671, and lightning protection testing to BS EN 62305, rectifying faults as required.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdown requests and carry out electrical isolations for specialist contractors.
- Participate in weekly fire alarm testing and support wider Estates Maintenance team activities through flexible, multi‑trade working.
- Work safely and in full compliance with Trust and departmental Health & Safety procedures, maintaining accurate estates records, asset data, and plant history.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship with City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.
- IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) with City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' post‑apprenticeship experience, ideally within a healthcare or similarly complex operational environment.
- City & Guilds qualification in Escape Lighting to BS EN 5266 with specialist knowledge of emergency lighting, fire alarms, fixed wire testing, and lightning protection systems.
