FULL DESCRIPTION

Water Technician - Level 3

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Water Technician (Level 3) to perform operation, maintenance and monitoring of water treatments for customers in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves ensuring water safety and regulatory compliance, completing allocated jobs, documentation, and adhering to health and safety standards.

Role Responsibilities

  • Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
  • Must not exceed one audit failure per year.

Required Qualifications

  • To normally act as the lead technician or ‘responsible person' when working in a team of two or more technicians/ESTs.
  • To ensure all work is completed in compliance with current legislation and documented at all times.
  • Tasks to be carried out in accordance with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] procedures/method statements.
  • Maintain and promote Health and Safety standards within your team, to sub‑contractors, and to clients in line with company standards and procedures.
  • Plan to ensure scheduled work is completed on time and to maximum efficiency.
  • Liaise with client representatives as required.
  • Report any pertinent issues to your field manager or client representative as appropriate.
  • At all times adhere to the client's specific Health and Safety/Safe Working practices.
  • Ensure all equipment used is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Have skills in line with levels 1 & 2 as well as either: Technical service (closed heating and chilled system testing, cooling tower weekly/monthly checks and water treatment of boilers), Plumbing & water treatment remedial skills, Acid descaling of boilers, towers and condensers, Ability to carry out multiple tasks across a range of work disciplines and take responsibility for identifying personal training needs, raising these with your Line Manager, Ability to train less experienced technicians/engineers, Ability to occasionally work in any other role reasonably within capabilities, Ability to interpret results, reports and make recommendations.
  • Depending on the entity you work for you may also be required to: Conduct secondary disinfection testing, plant inspections and servicing, Carry out Silver Copper analysis and service visits, Conduct BSRIA Chemistry and BSRIA Micro sampling, Undertake closed system analysis, top‑ups and dosing via various methods, Perform plumbing & water treatment remedial skills.
