FULL DESCRIPTION

Multi Skilled Building Maintenance Engineer

Pool van provided. 40 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical building services equipment, including boilers, pumps, compressed air systems, sanitary ware, fan coil units, air handling units, and BMS systems.
  • Carry out inspection and reactive maintenance activities on electrical building services equipment within competency levels, including lighting, small power, distribution systems, and building controls.
  • Support the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment in line with Permit to Work systems, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Participate in shift patterns, on-call rotas, and out-of-hours working, including weekends, to support reactive and intrusive maintenance activities.
  • Use CAFM systems via handheld devices to accurately record work, monitor subcontractor performance, and support operational reporting.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply fully with company and group health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and associated legislation.
  • Use all tools, equipment, and PPE correctly and report any hazards, deficiencies, or training needs promptly.
  • Promote energy efficiency, participate in energy-saving initiatives, and support continuous improvement in operational performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building maintenance with a strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance within a building services environment.
  • Ability to write and follow risk assessments and method statements.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
