Interim Financial Accounts Manager

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end financial activities including reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll postings and expense processes.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with VAT, CIS, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee and improve financial controls, reconciliation quality, and month-end efficiency.
  • Supervise and support three direct reports, providing leadership, coaching, and workload oversight.
  • Review payroll postings, expense transactions, credit card processing, and reimbursement accruals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee bonus and commission calculations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Lead intercompany reporting processes across the group.
  • Review quarterly VAT returns across 14 entities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational finance performance.
  • Build strong collaboration with Finance Shared Services and wider business teams.
  • Develop performance KPIs and monitor output quality across the finance team.

Required Qualifications

  • ACA or CIMA qualified (or newly qualified).
  • Strong foundation in financial reporting, compliance, and accounting controls.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, data analysis, and modelling.
  • Experience with Sage 200 preferred; willingness to learn new systems essential.
  • Familiarity with CIS processes is advantageous.
