Data Centre Engineer – Mechanical Bias (Days)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support the operation of a high-performance [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] data centre in Waltham Cross. Full-time, Monday–Friday 08:00-17:00.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all mechanical systems.
- Support operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of CRAC units, HVAC, AHUs, pumps, and chilled water systems.
- Conduct mechanical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair work.
- Work closely with engineering and on-site facilities teams to ensure compliance with SLAs and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports per [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] standards.
- Support emergency response situations including mechanical plant failures.
- Carry out routine inspections and performance checks.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (C&G, NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
- Experience in mission-critical or data centre environments.
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge including chilled water, HVAC, and cooling plant.
- F‑Gas qualification (2079) – highly desirable.
- Chiller‑bias background – highly favourable.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
