About the Junior Accountant role

We are [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We are looking for a Junior Accountant in our Peterborough office, with a September 2026 start. As a Junior Accountant, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting tasks while working towards your professional qualifications. You will assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll processing, and the preparation of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole-traders and LLPs
• Preparing management accounts
• Corporate tax returns
• Personal tax returns
• VAT returns
• Bookkeeping for clients
• Delivering excellent client service
• Working closely with clients, other members of the accounts team and other departments, including direct contact with Partners, managers and clients
• Involvement in audit work as and when required

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Minimum of Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English at GCSE
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Self-motivated
• Organised, efficient with attention to detail
• Able to demonstrate drive and initiative
• Able to reliably commute to the Peterborough office
• Comfortable in a client-facing role
• Dynamic individuals with a positive 'can do' attitude
• Highly personable with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Logical approach and good with numbers
