Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of running a smooth and efficient day-to-day pharmacy service, including acting as the Responsible Pharmacist and supervising pharmacy staff.
  • Assist in the provision of a patient-focused clinical pharmacy and dispensing service.
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in managing the work of the pharmacy team and co-ordinating operational deployment of staff.
  • Liaise with staff including other staff in the Centre, Nursing staff, and Consultants concerning prescriptions and medicine management issues.
  • Provide pharmaceutical advice ensuring safe, effective, economical and timely pharmaceutical care for patients and compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Participate in Saturday duty cover if required.

What You Can Bring

  • Member of the GPhC as a registered Pharmacist
  • MPharm or equivalent
  • Good understanding of patient care pathways and processes
  • Dispensary experience – community or hospital
  • Experience of policy/procedure guideline development
  • Clinical audit experience
  • Demonstrates good clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex problems and prioritise well under pressure
