Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is proud to be working in partnership with a growing provider of complex mental health care at home, who are seeking a Clinical Lead for their Mental Health services to support the delivery and expansion of their community-based services across London and Kent. Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical and Operations, you will take responsibility for overseeing a diverse caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in community settings. You will play a key role in bridging clinical leadership and operational delivery, supporting both service quality and business growth.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of community-based mental health care packages, this could be private or publicly funded cases
  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex and enduring mental health conditions
  • Conduct regular client reviews, risk assessments and care planning
  • Support implementation of new care packages, including hands-on involvement where required
  • Deliver training, competency assessments, and ongoing supervision to support workers
  • Undertake shadow shifts and provide direct support where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and governance frameworks
  • Work collaboratively with private clients, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and local authorities
  • Contribute to service development and support new business opportunities, including step-down care pathways from inpatient settings

Location & Travel

This is a fully mobile role, with some home-based working. You will be required to travel extensively across London and Kent, with flexibility to support services in other regions as the organisation grows. Travel may vary weekly (3–5 days in the field), monthly client reviews and site visits required, overnight stays may be necessary when implementing new care packages in new areas. Mileage (45p per mile) and travel expenses covered.

Work Pattern

Full-time, Monday to Friday. Highly flexible and dependent on operational needs. Requires a proactive, “hands-on” approach to community engagement.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience within mental health services (essential)
  • Background in leadership, management or operational roles within health or social care
  • Professional qualification such as RMN or RNLD (registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council) desirable but not essential
  • Strong understanding of community mental health delivery (essential)
  • Experience working with complex needs (e.g. severe mental illness, dual diagnosis)
  • Confident communicator able to work across private and public sector clients
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexibly
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary & Benefits
