Accounts Assistant

Salary: £14.50 – £15.50 per hour
Start Date: Immediate start available
Experience: Accounting: 2 years (required)

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day finance operations. The role will focus on customer billing, processing receipts, maintaining records in Xero, managing purchase orders, and general accounts administration, including running the accounts inbox.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and process up to 200 sales invoices per month
  • Allocate and process customer receipts and payments
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve basic queries
  • Chase outstanding purchase orders and follow up with suppliers or internal teams
  • Resubmit purchase orders or invoices where required
  • Monitor and manage the accounts email inbox, responding to queries and following up as needed
  • Support month-end processes where required
  • Maintain organised digital filing and financial documentation

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Confident using email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

  • Comfortable handling routine and deadline-driven tasks
  • Willing to learn and support wider finance activities as needed
