Hours: As required – could be any/multiple days Mon-Sat 9am – 4pm. Salary: £12.85 per hour.

Summary

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Driver’s Assistant (Bank) to support our Transport and Logistics team on an ad‑hoc basis. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a vital part in supporting our retail operations and helping us raise funds for our hospice services.

About the role:

As a Driver’s Assistant, you will work alongside our drivers and wider logistics team to ensure the safe delivery and collection of donated goods, including furniture, to and from our hospice shops, warehouse and other locations. You’ll help keep our warehouse organised, promote our shops in the local community and represent the Hospice positively at all times. Working hours are as required, with shifts potentially covering Monday to Saturday, 9am–4pm, depending on service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery and collection of stock, including donated furniture and other goods
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and securely
  • Help maintain organisation, cleanliness and standards within the warehouse
  • Promote Hospice shops as a vital fundraising activity and support local promotional events
  • Drive Hospice vehicles when required
  • Work both as part of a team and independently when needed
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Hospice policies, procedures and health & safety requirements
