Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG welding and a strong understanding of fabrication processes. This role involves working with various materials, primarily sheet metal, to produce high-quality welded components. Candidates must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials, including sheet metal, ensuring precise and clean welds in accordance with technical specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical diagrams to determine welding requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Assist with the fabrication of components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials as required.
- Conduct quality checks on welded parts to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and improve welding techniques.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with the ability to produce high-quality welds consistently.
- Strong knowledge of welding standards and practices.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely.
- Good understanding of fabrication techniques involving sheet metal and assembly processes.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment or materials effectively.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to safety standards. A recognised welding qualification or certification is desirable.
