Job Description

The role requires a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth within the social and public sector. You’ll be responsible for building and nurturing pipeline opportunities, developing long-term client partnerships, and positioning [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] as the partner of choice for organisations and local authorities within the social and public sectors.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities across organisations and local authorities within the social and public sectors.
- Develop detailed sales plans to target strategic accounts and growth aligned to the sector.
- Lead commercial negotiations, preparing proposals and commercial terms to secure new contracts and strategic alliances.
- Position [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] as a Risk Mitigation Business to stand out from competition.
- Identify cross sell opportunities throughout the Group.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., Heads of Property, Asset Managers, Housing Managers, Regeneration Directors).
- Understand clients’ asset management challenges (risk mitigation, insurance compliance, vacancy cost, asset preservation) and position tailored [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] solutions accordingly.
- Work with internal Sales Support Team and wider Social Team to serve as a client advocate internally to ensure service delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
Sector Expertise & Insight
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the social and public sector landscape, including trends across vacant property risk, insurance compliance, maintenance requirements, and national regeneration programmes.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking forums to raise [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s profile and identify new partnership opportunities.
Collaboration & Internal Leadership
- Work closely with marketing to develop targeted campaigns, thought leadership content, and sector-specific collateral.
- Collaborate with operations and service delivery teams to shape bespoke solution packages that align with client needs.
- Provide feedback on market requirements and competitor activity to inform product/service enhancements.
- Support Key Account Managers with sector growth opportunities to benefit the wider team.

- Revenue growth within assigned sector

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven B2B sales experience with a track record of driving new business in the social sector, public sector, property, estate services, asset management, facilities management, or related sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build and close complex deals.
- Excellent relationship building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage a pipeline and forecast sales performance accurately.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and goal-oriented with a collaborative “One Team” mindset.
- Knowledge of property risk, vacant property issues, compliance and mitigation services.
- Experience selling integrated service solutions (technology + human intervention + managed services).
Desirable Qualifications
- Existing network in UK social or public sector (housing associations, local authorities), property management, or real estate groups.
- Knowledge of security sector
