[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their remote team. This is a full-time, remote position available in multiple countries including the UK. The role focuses on scaling infrastructure and leading cross-team initiatives to reduce wildfire risks.
Role & Team
As a Staff Engineer, you will work across multiple teams to evolve a suite of web and internal tools that enable utility companies to more effectively manage risks associated with climate change and wildfires. We are seeking improvement in performance, scalability, and automation. At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Staff Engineers are hands-on technical leaders solving critical scaling challenges.
What You'll Do
- Broad and deep understanding of system design with ability to select the correct paradigm/technology.
- Develops deep understanding of business domains and how technology drives impact.
- Leads cross-team initiatives and architectural system design.
- Drives pragmatic technology choices and defines coding standards.
- Mentors and coaches engineers, influences technical decisions.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a high growth scaleup environment.
- Product minded with demonstrated business impact through technology.
- Full stack development: React/Typescript, Python/FastAPI, Postgres DB, Data pipelines.
- Comfortable with build-it-run-it environment (GCP, Cloud Run, Grafana, K8s).
- Ability to design scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
