Principal Research Scientist

What you will do
- Own Research work-streams at a high-level to deliver outcomes.
- Align priorities with problem stakeholders, internal and external.
- Set the technical direction for the stream and apply judgement and taste to drive progress.
- Plan roadmaps with clear milestones for key decisions and outcomes.
- Organise and guide more junior members of the team to effectively execute and deliver.
- Communicate purpose and key outcomes across the company.
- Contribute towards Research group strategy and culture.
- Identify valuable research areas and champion their development.
- Nurture younger colleagues.
- Translate physics and engineering challenges into mathematical problem formulations.
- Build models to predict physical systems using state-of-the-art machine learning.
- Discuss results with colleagues and customers.
- Collaborate to translate models into production code.
- Communicate work internally and externally.
What you bring to the table
- Ability to scope and deliver projects.
- Enthusiasm about using machine learning for science and engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- PhD in computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field, with expertise in: operator learning, geometric deep learning, or generative models.
- Over 4 years of industry experience building ML models in Python, PyTorch/CUDA, JAX, NumPy/SciPy.
- Publication record in reputable venues.
