Working in a building in Central London offers a dynamic and inspiring environment at the heart of one of the world's most vibrant cities. As a Deputy Manager you'll support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel. You'll create a great place for our teams to work and ensure our guests have a great experience in our hostels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering an excellent customer experience to all hostel guests.
  • Contributing towards the achievement of targets across all aspects of the hostel operation including food and beverage, and responsibility for maximising revenue whilst controlling expenditure.
  • Supporting the Hostel Manager by managing a team of employees and occasional volunteers.
  • Contributing to the team effort in the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks on a daily basis.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service
  • Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands – can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties
  • Experience of managing a team – experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team (desirable)
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable)
  • Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) – able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
