Housekeeping Assistant
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Housekeeping Assistant at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (42 Water End, Clifton, York, North Yorkshire, YO30 6LP). This is a seasonal, flexible contract from May to November 2026, minimum 15 hours per week. Salary: £12.71 per hour.
About the Role
As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will ensure the hostel provides a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for guests. You will support breakfast, cafe and evening meal service, communicating effectively across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and preparing bedrooms between guest departures and arrivals
- Maintaining the cleanliness of shower and toilet areas
- Keeping all areas of the hostel clean and tidy
- Efficiently undertaking housekeeping tasks, maintaining consistent cleanliness standards
- Complying with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] requirements for use and storage of cleaning products
- Reporting any faults or damage to hostel management
- Sorting and distributing used and unused linen
Skills and Experience
- Experience of working face to face with customers
- Experience of working in hospitality or customer service (desirable)
- Experience of working in a team
- Excellent timekeeping and flexibility
- Ability to manage varying pressures and prioritise
- Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office)
