Children's Palliative Community Nurse
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Children's Palliative Community Nurse in Walsall. This is a full-time, on-site role offering £30,600 to £40,800 per annum. The role involves community-based palliative care for children with complex needs.
About the Role
At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we provide specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting and life‑threatening conditions, and we support their families. As a Children's Palliative Community Nurse, you will:
- Deliver evidence-based end of life and symptom management and after death care to children and young people outside of the hospice
- Use clinical skills including, but not limited to, caring for children who require long term ventilation, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, suction, syringe drivers and enteral feeds. These competencies will be developed through structured, competency-based training.
- Undertake comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for children and young people with complex health needs, including life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, while working in partnership with their families.
- Empower children, young people and their relatives to make decisions about their care and to exercise choice
- Travel within a designated geographic area to visit patients in their homes or community settings
- This role requires autonomous lone working, making clinical decisions and managing patient care independently while coordinating with other healthcare providers as necessary
About You
- Registered Children’s nurse, having completed preceptorship
- Demonstrable relevant experience in palliative care
- Proven experience of delivering care within a community environment
- Experience of working with children with complex health needs
- Ability to travel independently around the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] region

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
