Weighbridge Operator

Type: Permanent, Part-time (30 hours/week)

About the Role

As a Weighbridge Operator at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you'll play an important part in keeping our Widnes site running safely, accurately, and compliantly. This is a key coordination role, supporting the movement of incoming and outgoing waste across the site. You'll work closely with internal teams, drivers, contractors, and external third parties to make sure vehicle movements are recorded correctly, paperwork is complete, and compliance standards are met at every stage.

What you'll be doing

  • Operating the weighbridge using AMCS, with training provided where required
  • Entering vehicle details and weights accurately
  • Communicating clearly with the Yard Operations team using two-way radio
  • Ensuring full compliance for incoming and outgoing waste transfer notes
  • Checking waste carrier licences using the national register
  • Liaising with the Commercial & Compliance Team Leader and yard staff to ensure the correct process is followed for any out-of-specification material
  • Assisting with contaminated load reports
  • Working closely with the Transport team to ensure outgoing offtakes are sent to the correct destination with the right paperwork and access codes
  • Maintaining compliant document storage and archiving
  • Providing written reports when required

What we're looking for

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to provide clear notes and accurate information
  • Confidence using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • A practical, organised approach to daily tasks
  • The ability to work well with operational, transport, commercial, and compliance teams
  • Previous AMCS experience would be useful, but it is not essential as training will be provided.
