FULL DESCRIPTION

Business Analyst Apprenticeship

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is offering a Business Analyst Apprenticeship based in Stratford-upon-Avon. This is a full-time, hybrid role with a salary of £25,000 per annum plus benefits. The apprenticeship is a fixed-term contract with a start date of 28th September 2026.

About the role

We are fully committed to the professional development of our people, and this is no different for apprentices. This role includes on and off the job training, leading to the achievement of a Business Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship.

As a Business Analyst Apprentice, you’ll play an important role in how change happens across our business. Business Analysts act as the link between our people and our technology teams. They help colleagues explain what isn’t working, explore what should happen instead, and translate those needs into clear, structured requirements that IT teams can build from. In simple terms, a Business Analyst listens, investigates, and helps shape solutions that make things better for our customers and for the organisation.

In this role, you’ll join our central Business Analysis function within the IT department, where you’ll become the “friendly shoulder” for the business - someone colleagues can turn to when they face a challenge or need support understanding a problem. You’ll work on a mix of day-to-day improvements and larger projects which are transforming how we deliver digital services and modernising our systems.

From the moment you join, you’ll be involved in understanding how work currently happens across the organisation. With support, you’ll meet stakeholders to find out what needs to change and why, and you’ll help document this through problem statements and clear business requirements. You’ll learn how to map out processes step by step, create user stories that explain what end users need from a system, and contribute to diagrams that show how a solution should work. You’ll use our Business Analysis framework, which includes helpful templates and structure, to guide your work.

The scheme is designed to fully support you professionally, giving you hands on work experience, supplemented with a professional study programme.

What we’re looking for

We’re not expecting you to have lots of experience—that’s what the apprenticeship is for—but we are looking for you to be proactive, curious, and keen to learn. You will have achieved 2 A-levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification (we will also consider applications from those expecting results this Summer) as well as 5 GCSEs grade C or above or grade 4-9, including Maths and English.

More than anything, it is attitude and approach that matter. You’ll have experience of gaining information from others to resolve problems and the ability to manage your own workload. Great written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate at different levels will be important, along with evidence of proactively seeking new opportunities to learn and develop. An interest in financial services, in particular insurance is desirable.

  • Dependable and trusted team contributor who enjoys working with others, sharing ideas, and building positive relationships across the business. You communicate openly, support colleagues, and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and IT confidence, feeling comfortable using tools like Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint to organise information, manage tasks, and present ideas. You’re able to check your work carefully and learn new systems quickly.
  • Clear and thoughtful communication, whether sharing updates with colleagues, asking questions to understand a task, or building relationships with internal and external contacts. Active listening and clear explanations help you work effectively with others.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management, managing your time well and staying on top of multiple tasks or deadlines. You approach challenges calmly, gather the right information, and work with others to find practical solutions.
  • Positive learning mindset, always open to developing new skills, exploring better ways of working, and understanding how different processes fit together. Curiosity and a willingness to learn will help you grow quickly in this role.
