Job Overview

Are you a Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker looking for an opportunity to work within community mental health services? We have an opportunity for both experienced Band 5 practitioners or newly qualified Band 5 practitioners with minimum 6 months post-qualifying experience to support transition to Band 6 role. In line with trust policy, newly qualified social workers will be recruited initially at Band 5, progressing to Band 6 upon successful completion of ASYE.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments for service users with severe and enduring mental health needs.
  • Develop, deliver, and review comprehensive treatment programs using evidence-based practice.
  • Act as key worker for service users with complex needs, providing defined interventions.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate specialist therapeutic interventions, including individual and group work.
  • Develop and maintain partnership working with other services, including primary care, local authority, and voluntary sector.
  • Build hope-inspiring relationships with service users, focusing on strengths and aspirations.
  • Maintain clinical records and participate in supervision and training.

Person Specification - Essential Criteria

  • Diploma/Degree and registration with NMC or SWE
  • Post-registration experience in front-line mental health services (minimum 6 months)
  • Good understanding of recovery principles and secondary mental health services
  • Sound understanding of legal frameworks including Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding
  • Significant experience of assessing risk and developing risk management strategies
  • Ability to deliver therapeutic interventions
  • UK driving licence holder with access to a car
