Wayleave Officer

Role Summary
As a Wayleave Officer, you will play a vital role in facilitating customer connections to the fibre infrastructure by securing wayleave permissions. You will work closely with the Wayleave Supervisor and Manager and collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the efficient achievement of wayleaves to enable installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Wayleave Acquisition
- Collaborate with the Wayleave Manager to obtain permissions for installation of telecommunications apparatus.
- Conduct desktop audits of pre-build areas to identify private land.
- Utilize land searches to identify ownership and secure wayleaves, easements, and landlord consents.
- Obtain wayleaves onsite and remotely.
- Negotiation & Coordination
- Negotiate wayleaves for Business Parks, Industrial Estates, and Council properties.
- Coordinate with Planning, Build, and Installations teams.
- Liaise with public bodies including Department for Infrastructure, Local Councils, and Housing Associations.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Schedule and attend meetings with landowners, Councils, management agents.
- Serve as primary point of contact for landlords and solicitors.
- Provide updates to Wayleave Manager.
- On-Site Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site visits to obtain wayleaves.
- Work with the Wayleave department to maintain compliance.
Key Requirements
- Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 2 years administrative experience, preferably in telecommunications.
- Previous experience as Wayleave Officer (1+ year) desirable.
- Familiarity with Streetworks platform advantageous.

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in legal department or knowledge of legal processes for land use.
